Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated Financial Accountant to join our team in Bolton. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out general accounting functions and overseeing financial systems and processes.


The main responsibilities for this role will be to assist the Group Financial Controller in;


  • Month end and group reporting
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations (fixed asset, prepayments, accruals)
  • Departmental profitability analysis
  • Prepare statutory accounts
  • Assist with budgets and internal audits
  • Quarterly VAT return preparations and analysis
  • Assist with supplier account reconciliation and payments
  • Payroll preparation
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Assist with development of and implementation of finance systems
  • Support the team with improving finance reports and processes
  • Performing any other task that is of a reasonable request in line with the finance department


A bit about the right person:


  • CIMA / AAT qualified or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience
  • Experience of managing, improving and implementing systems and processes with a good knowledge of IT
  • Good communication skills and well organised
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently when necessary
  • Month end experience including balance sheet reconciliation
  • A proactive team player to join our demanding department who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, pays excellent attention to detail with a can-do approach to any task given
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, Vlookups and what if analysis
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 is preferred, but training will be given for the right candidate
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload

Job Type: Part-time, 16-24 hours per week over 2-3 days

Salary: £25,000 to £32,000 / year full time equivalent (salary is pro-rata)
